THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan praised MP Shashi Tharoor’s article appreciating Kerala’s industrial atmosphere. However, the Chief Minister did not mention Tharoor by name in his remarks. He was speaking at the inauguration of the first reach of the Hill Highway in Koodaranji.
He stated that Tharoor had systematically highlighted Kerala’s development efforts. "There has been significant progress in certain sectors, setting an example for both the country and the world. A responsible representative has presented facts clearly for society to understand. He did not just deliver an ordinary speech. When it comes to startups in the IT sector, Kerala has achieved multiple times the growth seen globally, and that is exactly what was pointed out," the Chief Minister said, referring to Tharoor’s article.
"Some responsible individuals are openly claiming that Kerala is not an investor-friendly state. They argue that Kerala does not deserve the title of an investment-friendly state. But Kerala earned this status after undergoing multiple evaluations. Shouldn't we be happy about that?" Pinarayi Vijayan questioned. "Why are these people adopting a stance that demeans Kerala? Opposition to the LDF should not turn into opposition to the state itself," he added.
His criticism came in the context of state Congress leaders speaking out against Shashi Tharoor’s article.
