THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All the files will be examined in detail. Notes will be written in some files and questions will be raised. The files on which the decisions are based, along with the minutes of the meetings, will be called and examined. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will take decisions on the files sent by the government and universities only after that.

The Governor reaches the office at 10:30 am. He stays in the office till 5:30 pm and on some days late at night. He sees visitors from 10:30 am and from 3:30 pm. The same practice was followed when he was the Governor of Bihar and Himachal Pradesh.

When the appointment of judicial officers and the remission of prisoners were considered, the Governor informed the government that all its files should be seen. The files were brought following this. The Governor, who is the authority of the subordinate judiciary, is the one who has to approve the appointments.

The Governor had earlier announced that he would attend the senate meetings of the universities as the Chancellor. He presided over the senate of the Open University on Friday. He will visit MG University on the 18th. He is also attending the senate of Kerala University. The Governor had said that he has attended the senate meetings of 20 universities in Bihar many times. The Governor has directed that the senate meetings should be held not only for presenting the budget but also for academic matters and that graduation ceremonies should be held everywhere.

No decision on Sherin's release

The governor has not yet rejected any of the government's recommendations. No decision has been taken on the recommendation to release two women prisoners, including Sherin of the Karanavar case. All the reports necessary to release the prisoners were directed to be submitted.

The application to present the Private University Bill in the Assembly is also under consideration. Most of the files are from universities. This is because the Chancellor has to approve all the important decisions. The Governor is informed about the decisions of the government. Files on bills, budget for the convening and adjourning the House will be sent from the Assembly.

Live photo as gift

The Governor will give a framed photo of the visit to all the ministers and VIPs who visit him at the Raj Bhavan. The Governor had gifted pictures to ministers R Bindu and P Rajeev yesterday when the Speaker and his family came to see him. A Canon company printer was purchased to print photos live. Ready-made frames have also been kept.
