Brothers returning from family gathering killed in bike accident

THRISSUR: Two brothers were killed in a bike accident that happened in Chalakudy. The two dead are Suraj (32) and Sijeesh (26) of Pattimattom. The accident occurred at Nadukunnu in Potta Sunday morning around 5 am.

The two met with the accident while returning home after attending a family gathering at a relative's house in Muringoor. The bike heading towards Kodakara, hit a mile stone on the roadside and lost control before crashing into a divider.

People seeing the accident rushed the two seriously injured to a nearby hospital, but their lives could not be saved. Chalakudy police reached the spot and conducted an inspection.

Meantime, a couple died in a bike accident at Njandoorkonam in Thiruvananthapuram last night. The dead were Dileep (40) of Panthalacode Aruvikkarakonam Vidya Bhavan and his wife Neethu (26). A Duke bike coming from Pothencode towards Powdikonam collided with the couple’s Honda Shine bike coming from the opposite direction at around 9 pm.

The locals said the Duke bike was speeding. The impact of the crash was so severe that Neethu was thrown from the scooter and crashed into the wall of a nearby house, leading to her instant death. Dileep also died on the spot. The accident occurred when the couple was returning after visiting her parents, who live in a rented house in Nellikkavila near Paudikonam. The two youths who were seriously injured in the accident are on ventilator at the Medical College Hospital.
