THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: While liquor sales are skyrocketing in Kerala, it is significantly decreasing in Tamil Nadu. Moreover, the people of Tamil Nadu are also flocking to Kerala to buy liquor. As they could not find an answer for this, the excise team in Tamil Nadu reached Kerala and tried to find out the reason behind the trade. As part of this, an excise team from Tamil Nadu reached the liquor shop of the Beverage Corporation in Parasala, which borders Kerala.
The team led by the Tamil Nadu Excise DySP reached the liquor shop in Parassala the other day in the morning. They wanted to know information including the brand and price of the liquor that was being sold the most. Although they asked the employees about all this, they were not ready to reveal it. They assured that they could share the information only if there was an instruction from the head office.
When it became clear that they would not get information from the employees, the Tamil Nadu team tried to find out more from those who came to buy liquor from their home state. Liquor is available from ten in the morning in Kerala. However, in Tamil Nadu, it has to be twelve o'clock to get liquor. Liquor lovers from Tamil Nadu said that this was one of the reasons for the decline in sales. The Tamil Nadu team returned after taking a photo of the price list boards placed in front of the liquor store.
