AMRITSAR: Two Indian youths deported from the US in the second phase following illegal immigration have been arrested in a murder case. The accused, who arrived at the Amritsar airport on a US C-17 military aircraft last night, were arrested. The Rajpura natives were arrested in a murder case registered last year.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nanak Singh said Sandeep Singh alias Sunny and Pradeep Singh were arrested. A team led by the SHO of Rajpura police station reached Amritsar airport on Saturday and arrested them. The police had received a secret information that some of the Indians who were deported and were coming to Amritsar were involved in the murder case. Subsequently, they were arrested through proper intervention.
The police had registered a case of murder against them and four others in the incident. It was later revealed that Sandeep was also involved in the case and his name was added in the FIR. It is reported that this time too, the illegal immigrants were brought to India in handcuffs like the first time. The people on the flight were from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. It is reported that the US will bring more people to India in three flights this week itself.
