SRINAGAR: There was a provocative firing by the Pakistan Army along the Line of Control (LoC) today. The incident occurred in the Gulpur area of Poonch around 11:30 AM, targeting an Indian military post, violating the ceasefire agreement. In response, the Indian Army launched a retaliatory firing, resulting in a brief exchange of fire.

Security officials confirmed that there was no reported damage on the Indian side, but the extent of casualties on the Pakistani side remains unclear. This incident comes amid a series of cross-border skirmishes in recent days, including an IED explosion that resulted in the deaths of two Indian soldiers earlier this month.

The situation is being closely monitored, and both armies maintain a high state of alertness along the LoC.
