KASARGOD: KPCC President K Sudhakaran stated that he personally contacted Shashi Tharoor MP to address the controversy surrounding his article and provided him with good advice. Sudhakaran said that Shashi Tharoor had expressed his opinion and that individuals are entitled to have their own opinions. However, he added that it is the party that decides its official stance.
When asked about Congress leader MM Hassan's opinion that Shashi Tharoor should resign from the working committee, Sudhakaran responded that it is for the party to decide. He added that the final decisions are made by the high command, and the Congress party is in the hands of capable leaders. "There are only differences of opinion within the party, not conflicts. I have told Shashi Tharoor the things that need to be said. I have given him good advice," Sudhakaran clarified.
An article written by Shashi Tharoor in an English newspaper last week had put the Congress on the defensive. In the piece, Tharoor commended the Pinarayi government's accomplishments in the startup sector, which sparked criticism from various individuals. In response, Tharoor addressed the criticism both through a Facebook post and in person. He stated yesterday, "I believe in acknowledging good actions, no matter who performs them."
