Actor Sudheer Sukumaran recently blamed his poor food choices including the Arabic dish Al Faham for cancer creeping inside his body. The actor also advised Al Faham addicts to consume sufficient vegetables to not invite serious diseases. With this video igniting debate, the actor came again to clear the air over the issue.
Sudheer:
"It was colon cancer which affects the intestines that came searching for me. I had no other illness nor did my family have any history of cancer. All this brought a feeling in me that it was my poor food choices that deteriorated my health. During my bodybuilding training, I used to devour Al Faham every day. The charred part of the food was my favourite.
The trainer told me to eat half-cooked chicken to get protein, but I loathed it. So I would ask them to take that chicken part in charcoal, work it out to make it edible. So, Al Faham and fried chicken made it into my culinary favourites during those times. I avoided vegetables but relied fully on meat products. I think this might have worsened my case. These statements I made about food choices are not approved by doctors. It is simply my understanding of things and may not be true.
Many hotel owners contacted me in the last few days expressing disappointment at my statements. Al Faham is presently the most sought-after fast food edible in Kerala and my revelation going viral might have impacted sales by a little margin. To be honest, I love Al Faham and I will still have it. However, the cooking should be neat and there should not be any charred parts."
