Salary of PSC chairman and members revised; new salary will be equivalent to that of district judge

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet meeting has decided to revise the salaries and allowances of the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) chairman and members. The revised salary for the Chairman will be equivalent to the maximum amount of the Super Time Scale of District Judges, while for the Members, it will be equivalent to the maximum amount of the Selection Grade Scale of District Judges. The decision was made after considering the existing service and pay structures of PSC chairmen and members in other states.

The salaries and allowances of Presiding Officers in industrial tribunals will be revised to match those of Judicial Officers in the Subordinate Judiciary.

Tenders approved
Tenders amounting to Rs 8,30,41,042.53 have been approved for the renovation of the following roads in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency:

Manacaud–Valiyathura Road
Beemapally–Valiyathura Road
Valiyathura–Airport Road

Contract approved
The Managing Director of the Kerala Water Authority has been granted permission to approve a contract for works under Package III of the Peravoor–Muzhakkunnu and Ayyankunnu Water Supply Scheme in Kannur district, funded by KIIFB. The contract covers the construction of an overhead reservoir, gravity main, and pipeline works.

Asha Thomas to be appointed as K-RERA chairperson
Dr. Asha Thomas, IAS, will be appointed as the Chairperson of the Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (K-RERA).

Land title deed distribution
In Kondotty Taluk, Malappuram, 23 long-term occupants of government land (Puramboke land) will be granted land title deeds (pattayam) with the condition that the government retains full rights over the minerals in the land.

Government guarantee
The Government Guarantee period for a ₹180 lakh working capital loan availed by Kottayam Textiles and Prabhuram Mills, units under the Kerala State Textile Corporation, from the State Bank of India, will be extended for two years from January 1, 2025.

Lease of land for Oceanarium project
The State Fisheries Resource Management Society, under the Department of Fisheries, will be allocated land in Puthuvype village, Ernakulam, for establishing an Oceanarium at a lease rate of Rs 1,000 per acre per year.
