Jeep slipped into 100-feet-deep gorge; more details on Panniyarkutty accident

IDUKKI: More information has come out in the Panniyarkutty jeep accident in Idukki that claimed the lives of three. The couple who died in the accident were returning home after visiting relatives in Mullakanam. The accident took place near the Panniyarkutty Church where the road is narrow and steep. The jeep fell to a depth of 100 feet.

Bose (55) and his wife Reena (48) of Panniyarkutty and Abraham (50) of Panniyarkutty died in the accident. Bose and his wife lived near Panniyarkutty new bridge. All three were rushed to hospital but their lives could not be saved. Abraham, who was seriously injured, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Aluva.

Reena is the elder sister of Arjuna award-winning sportspersons Padma Shri KM Beenamol and KM Binu.
