Engineering student stabbed to death by collegemate in capital city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An engineering student was stabbed to death by his collegemate in the capital city. The dead is 22-year-old V L Valentine of Mizoram, a fourth-year student of Rajadhani Engineering College at Nagaroor in Attingal. The police have arrested Lamsang Swala, also a Mizoram native and a third year BTech student of the same college, in connection with the incident.

The incident happened near the college at around 11 pm last night. Police said the students, who were friends, had gone out to consume alcohol together and then got into an argument, which led to the stabbing. The seriously injured Valentine was first taken to a private hospital nearby and later to the medical college hospital, but his life could not be saved.

The initial conclusion is that an argument over alcohol led to the murder. Police said further investigation has been initiated.
