Rishiraj Singh likely to become CBI special director

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With Rakesh Asthana getting appointed as Civil Aviation Security director-general, reports suggest that Jail DGP Rishiraj Singh is being considered for the post of special director in CBI. Reports suggest that several other officers including Ahmedabad Commissioner AK Singh and Madhya Pradesh Crime DGP Sudhir Saxena are also being considered for the post.

According to sources, Rishiraj Singh tops the list owing to his experience as joint director in the CBI. Singh, who comes next to state police chief Loknath Behera and DGP Jacob Thomas in the Kerala cadre, he was empanelled to the Central grade in 2018. Sources also suggest that his excellent track record and no-compromise policy helped him to find the top spot in the list of probables. Singh, who also has experience as ASP, SP, ADGP and DGP in Kerala Police, got appointed as Jail DGP some months back.
