Film strike to be resolved within a week; Antony Perumbavoor withdraws controversial post

KOCHI: The film strike would be resolved within a week, said film chamber president B R Jacob. He also said that he has spoken to producer Antony Perumbavoor. Jacob clarified that the news that strike will be staged on March 27, the release date of the big budget film Empuraan, is incorrect. He added that Antony said that he was pained by the statement regarding the budget of the film Empuraan.

Jacob said the film chamber is taking steps to resolve the dispute between Antony Perumbavoor and producer G Suresh Kumar. Meanwhile, Antony Perumbavoor has withdrawn the Facebook post that sparked a controversy. The film chamber had issued a notice to Antony asking him to withdraw the post which led to new tensions in the film industry. Antony Perumbavoor clarified that his post was after consulting with the producers' association.
