Drug-addicted man hacks younger brother using sword taken from Bhagavathi temple

KOZHIKODE: A drug-addicted elder brother hacked his younger brother with a sword from the temple. K.P. Abhinand (23) of Chamal Ambedkar Nagar, Thamarassery, was slashed by his brother K.P. Arjun. He took the sword from the Guruthi pooja ritual of the Karappatta Bhagavathi Temple and slashed his brother at his house. He took the sword without permission.

Abhinand was taken to the Thamarassery Taluk Hospital. His condition is stable, and he is recovering.

Arjun was taken into custody by the Thamarassery police. The incident took place at around 5.15 pm today. It is believed the motive was the vengeance he felt towards his brother who decided to send his drug-addicted brother to a rehabilitation centre.
