KOCHI: App to take action if the Motor Vehicle Department officials who go to the field, including for vehicle inspection, are found to be sloppy. An app called Aadhaar Face RD and a client app called AEBAS have been prepared to ensure that the officials are working efficiently in the field. A 15-day trial run of the apps has begun.

The officers should take a selfie from the place where they are assigned for duty and upload it to the app. Attendance should also be recorded from there. In the first phase, this will be implemented for the officers of the enforcement squad. The officers should install the apps on their mobile phones for this.

Each Enforcement Regional Transport Officer should provide a list of 25 check points (in the entire district) under their jurisdiction. Field officers can record attendance from these places. Four to five places in each taluk should be on the list.

Enforcement officers have to report to their assigned place on the checkpoint list every day, take a selfie from there and upload it to the app. A new list of 25 places should be prepared after 25 places or after 60 days. Meanwhile, some officers have not yet installed AEBAS on their phones, suspecting that the client app is a private app.
