KOLLAM: The CPM state meet has started in Kollam after a gap of three decades. Meanwhile, the absence of Kollam MLA M Mukesh from the conference is drawing attention. Reports said Mukesh did not attend the meet as he is shooting for a film.

Meantime, various interpretations are being leveled that the absence is due to differences between Mukesh and the party. The meet is being held in Mukesh's constituency. Apart from sharing a campaign-related video, the MLA's failure to share posts related to the meet on social media is also being discussed. It is also reported that Mukesh is facing an undeclared ban from the party following the sexual assault case. The police have filed the chargesheet in the case. There was criticism against Mukesh in the district conference as well.

The special investigation team recently filed the chargesheet in the harassment complaint against Mukesh. The chargesheet stated that the charges against the actress of Aluva, were proven. There is digital evidence against the MLA in the complaint. The charge sheet was filed in the Ernakulam Judicial Magistrate's Court.

WhatsApp chats and e-mail messages with the complainant have been accepted as digital evidence. The charge sheet also said that circumstantial evidence and witness statements, including that the two traveled together, have been received. In addition to harassment, sections of sexual assault have also been charged.

The incident based on the complaint happened in 2010. The actress complained that Mukesh had abused her at various places by promising roles in films and membership in the star organization AMMA. The Maradu police initially registered a case on the actress' complaint on last August 29. The actress' confidential statement was also recorded in connection with the case. The court had also granted anticipatory bail to Mukesh in the case. After the actress said that similar incidents had occurred at Wadakkanchery in Thrissur, a case was registered there as well.
