Girls got calls from same number, turning point in missing case of students in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: A new turning point in the missing case of two plus two students in Tanur. Fathima Shahada and Aswathy of Devadar Higher Secondary School in Tanur went missing since yesterday afternoon. Tanur circle inspector told media that the investigation has been intensified in the incident. The girls’ call records are being examined in detail. The circle inspector also clarified that a call came to both girls from the same number.


The tower location of the students is presently in Kozhikode. It was found that the call came to their phones from a SIM card registered in the name of a native of Edavanna. The location of this number is presently in Maharashtra, said Tanur circle inspector Tony J Mattam.


The two went missing since yesterday afternoon. Both left homes saying that they were going to school. When they failed to appear for the exam, the teacher called home. Later informed the police. Got hints of the two going to Kozhikode. A search is being conducted in this area.


Their locations were found yesterday at Tanur Railway Station and Kozhikode Railway Station. Based on this, CCTV footages are being examined. The phones of the two are switched off. The phones were switched off in Kozhikode. The police said the investigation is based on the conclusion that both are in Kozhikode.
