THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) has issued an order stating that if there are people in the queue even after 9 PM, outlets should not close until the last person in the queue is served. The order specifies that outlets must remain open until the last person in the line has been served before closing. The new order has been issued addressing warehouse managers. Instructions have also been provided for shop-in-charge personnel.
The order came into effect yesterday. At present, outlets are supposed to operate from 10 AM to 9 PM. However, in many outlets, there are still people in the queue after 9 PM. Some outlets refuse to sell alcohol after the designated time, which is likely the reason for the new directive.
