'Lost 400 girls through love jihad': Complaint filed against PC George's controversial speech

IDUKKI: A complaint has been filed against PC George for his controversial remark that we had lost more than 400 young women through love jihad in Meenachil taluk alone. The complaint was filed against the BJP leader by the Youth Congress Mandalam Committee of Thodupuzha. The complaint states that PC George is spreading false propaganda whilst not a single case has been registered in Kerala in the name of love jihad.

PC George's statement was that love jihad is increasing in Kerala. He said that in Meenachil taluk alone, 400 girls were lost through love jihad. "Only 41 were recovered. Christians should be prepared to marry off girls before the age of 24." PC George also said in his speech that parents should understand the reality and behave accordingly. PC's controversial speech was at an anti-drug program held in Pala.

PC George's speech:

"We are discussing alcohol and drugs. Is that the only problem in Kerala? The police have seized explosives in a building in Erattupetta that are enough to burn the entire Kerala. I know where they are going to burn them. I will not go into further details. Where is this country heading? A minor girl and a 41-year-old man committed suicide. They were found hanging from a tree. This is also a topic that needs to be discussed. Where will this end?

A priest, while delivering a speech in the church, said narcotic jihad and love jihad are dangerous. Wasn't the whole of Kerala burning then? Thousands came from Erattupetta to attack the bishop’s house. When they came to attack, I went there alone. Not a single person from Pala reacted.

Kerala is moving towards a very dangerous direction. What can we do? We can do one thing. This cannot be changed in any school. How many schools are running well? Go to the family. Evening prayers are a must. For that, father, mother, and children should be together. After that, they should sit and eat together. We should then discuss the entire day's events. In this way, the children should be made to understand the dangers caused by alcohol.

In Meenachil taluk alone, we lost about four hundred girls. How many did we get back? We got 41. I know the painful experiences. I have had the same experience. I will not go into it. What I have to tell you is that nothing will happen if you scare the children in school. The teachers should discuss this with their families, wives, and children and fight against this alcohol and drugs.

Why are the Christians not marrying off their daughters at 25 and 30? Why are they kept home? One girl aged 25 went missing yesterday. She went at 9.30 pm last night. Her father should be blamed for keeping her till 25. Why didn’t he marry her off? This is an issue to be discussed. Forgive me for saying this. Girls should be married off at 22 or 23?

When I was 25, I was happy seeing girls. Girls too have the same emotions. This is reality, and these are human weaknesses.

What is the reason for Muslim girls not crossing limits? They are married off as soon as they turn 18. We don’t marry our daughters off even after they turn 28 or 29. We squeeze their salaries. Christians should marry their daughters off when they turn 24. If she wants to study, she can do that after marriage."
