Malayalam actress Shiny Sara has revealed about the casting call scam in the name of giving her a chance in Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. The fake casting call group contacted her promising to give her the role of the hero's wife in Jailer 2. In the video released by Shiny, she explains that she was asked for Rs 12,500 for an artist card to act in Tamil and that she was saved only because of the help of other actors.
Shiny's revelation came through the social media profiles of actress and friend Mala Parvathy. The video has already gone viral. Shiny says that Mala Parvathy herself asked Shiny to inform everyone about this incident. Shiny also asks people to be careful through the video, as many people may have fallen victim to this fake casting call scam.
"The story is interesting and serious. The other day, I received a message on WhatsApp. They said, "We have considered your application for Jailer 2 through a casting agency and we are currently looking for people to play the roles of Rajinikanth's daughter and son." I told them that I wanted a role that was appropriate for my age, and I gave them all the information.
The next day, a person from a company called Suresh Kumar Castings came on WhatsApp and asked if I had a passport and that I would be shooting in Tamil Nadu and Malaysia. He also said that if I was selected in the casting, I would be paid Rs. 10.5 lakh. I fell for their professional approach.
He said that Suresh sir will call me tomorrow at 11 am. But he didn't call me even after two days. On the third day, the person who called himself Suresh made an audio call and said that I should be ready immediately, come on the video call, etc. "There are a lot of people to interview, so you have to come in loose hair wearing a saree," was the instruction. I went home in a rush and got dressed in a saree. He called me, and that's how the interview started.
He kept saying things like, "Stand still, turn a bit." He spoke very politely. He said that when I come for shooting, I must bring my guardian. Then he asked if I had an artist card. When I said "We don't have one here, I haven't taken it," he said that it is necessary in Tamil Nadu and that it costs Rs. 12,300.
He also promised that they would get it for me. He said that I should send a copy of my Aadhaar card and photo for that. He said that they can send an email, and if I give OK, they can apply for my artist card. I got a very professional email. I replied 'OK' to that email. After that, they made an audio call. They said they got my email and they said that I should send the money today itself to get the artist card.
When they asked for money, I said it would take some time. They said that they sent the confirmation mail because I said 'OK' and that many other actors were in the queue. They said that they want me to get the artist card right away so that they can cast me quickly and asked me how much time it would take.
I said two days, but they said, "Two days is too much, send half the money now, send the rest later. I will give you the QR code." Hearing this, I smelled trouble. He said, "Okay sir" and hung up. After that, I called Mala Parvathy and Lijomol, who are acting in Tamil films, but neither of them was available. I called another Tamil friend and asked about the artist card. The reply was that such a card is not needed.
Following this incident, Mala Parvathy shared a video of Shiny and warned people to be careful. 'Suresh Kumar Castings with a new ploy. A great role in Nelson's Jailer 2. All the details including the shoot schedule, required dates, remuneration. The only obstacle is the artist card. Rs 12500 has to be paid. 7535801976. The call came from this number. Shiny realized that it was a fake call. She called the right people and made sure that it was a scam. 'Suresh Kumars' are on the move. Be careful! You don't need such a card to act in Tamil. Shiny escaped,' Mala Parvathy shared the video of Shiny with the caption.
