PUNE: A complaint has been obtained in a shocking case of fuel adulteration in Pimpri-Chinchwad, were a petrol pump in Pune’s Shahunagar was found dispensing fuel mixed with 80% water. The incident led multiple vehicles to break down shortly after refuelling, raising serious concerns over fuel quality and consumer safety.

Even vehicles fuelled with one or two litres of petrol stopped after travelling a very short distance. Many initially thought that it may be due to engine failure. However, it was later known that there was no petrol. Following that, the petrol tank was examined.

As soon as the tank was opened, a watery liquid was seen. These images are going viral on social media. Many who fuelled petrol from the same pump experienced this, they went to the bunk and protested.

Angry customers demanded an immediate investigation and strict action against the guilty. Authorities have launched an investigation amid serious concerns about fuel quality and consumer safety.

It is not clear whether it was a mistake or whether water was deliberately added to the fuel. Experts suspect that the problem may have been caused by water entering the underground storage tanks due to lack of proper maintenance.
