Opportunity for owners of old vehicles until March 31st; MVD urges to seize golden chance

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Motor Vehicles Department has announced an opportunity to pay tax arrears through a one-time tax settlement scheme. The Motor Vehicles Department has announced that vehicle owners have until March 31 to pay the tax arrears on their old vehicles. Vehicle owners who are unable to pay tax after March 31, 2020 can use this service.

"If the vehicle is unused or sold but the ownership has not changed from the vehicle owners or there is no information about the vehicle, the tax arrears can be paid through a one-time scheme at a reduced rate and the liability can be terminated forever," the MVD announced. The Motor Vehicles Department also reminded that the one-time tax arrears settlement scheme will end on March 31. MVD advised to contact the RT office for more information.
