THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Uncertainty looms over the next BJP president in the state. In recent days, many leaders have come to the forefront to fill the void of K Surendran, who relinquished from the post. Names of Shobha Surendran and MT Ramesh are being considered, but it is not known who the central leadership will favor.
In a latest, BJP 2024 LS candidate from Thiruvananthapuram, Rajeev Chandrasekhar has entered the fray to be the BJP state president post. In his response to the media, Rajeev didn’t rule out the chance. The former union minister confirmed that the announcement would be made soon, while also keeping alive his chances to take leadership of the state BJP unit.
If Rajeev is to helm the affairs in the state BJP, tides will turn for the party in the upcoming assembly and local body elections. Rajeev Chandrasekhar was the BJP candidate from Thiruvananthapuram in the Lok Sabha elections. Despite showing signs of an upset, Rajeev lost the elections by a slender margin. Since then, Rajeev has been devoted to his mission to capture the capital city. He bought a house in Kowdiar to spend six days a month in Thiruvananthapuram to monitor works.
"Three and a half lakh people supported me during the elections. I am here for them. I will be finding solutions for their problems.” said Rajeev.
