KSRTC bus collides with lorry in Malappuram; woman dies, several people injured

MALAPPURAM: A bus passenger met with a tragic end after a KSRTC bus collided with a lorry in Perinthalmanna in Malappuram. The deceased has been identified as Sreenanda (21), a native of Ariyoor in Mannarkad. She was a final year BCA student at Mannarkad College. She was returning from Kozhikode when she met with the accident.

10 people were injured in the accident. Among this, the condition of two people is said to be critical. The collision happened around 5.30 PM at Tirurkad in Perinthalmanna. The KSRTC bus, which was traveling from Kozhikode to Palakkad, collided with a lorry that came from the opposite direction.

One side of the bus was completely destroyed due to the impact of the crash. The lorry overturned onto the road. Locals initiated the rescue operations. The injured people are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Perinthalmanna.
