Mohanlal announces worldwide release date of much awaited Empuraan

The worldwide release date of Mohanlal-Prithviraj team’s big budget Malayalam film Empuraan has been announced. The first show of the film will begin at 6 am on March 27th. The news was shared by Mohanlal, Prithviraj and producer Antony Perumbavoor on social media. The film will hit theatres in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. The release times will change depending on each country.

There were reports that Lyca Productions, a major Tamil production House, had backed out of the film. The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor's Aashirvad Cinemas and Subaskaran's Lyca. Sree Gokulam Movies, owned by Gokulam Gopalan, will take over Lyca's share. There was concern among the audience whether the release date would be changed.

Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Prithviraj, Indrajith, Sai Kumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saniya Iyyappan, Sivada, Aneesh Menon, etc., along with many foreign stars, are also a part of the film. The film, which is the second part of the blockbuster film Lucifer, which hit theatres in 2019, has been scripted by Murali Gopi. Deepak Dev has composed music for the film. Sujith Vasudev wields came for the film. Editing is by Akhilesh Mohan. Mohandas is the art director. Action is by Stunt Silva. Nirmal Sahadev is the creative director of the film. Empuraan is the second part of a film series that tells the story in three parts.

The shooting of Empuraan started on October 5, 2023 in Faridabad. The shooting was completed in America, UK, UAE, Chennai, Mumbai, Gujarat, Ladakh, Kerala, Hyderabad, and Shimla.
