Two-year-old boy bitten by stray dog undergoes surgery

KOLLAM: A two-year-old boy sustained serious injuries after a stray dog attacked and bit him on his face. The boy injured is Adam, son of Shine Shah of Eroor in Kollam and Arunima. The boy has been admitted at Thiruvananthapuram SAT Hospital.


The incident happened at his mother's house in Odanavattom Kalappila. The dog attacked him when Adam was playing in the courtyard. Soon the locals came and chased the dog away. The boy sustained injuries on his eyes and neck. He was first taken to the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital and later to the SAT Hospital. The boy underwent a surgery.


Another boy was also injured in a stray dog attack in Kuttanad. A five-year-old boy who was playing in the yard was seriously injured in the attack by a stray dog. Thejus Pradeep, son of Pradeep Kumar of Kavalam was injured in the attack. Thejus, who suffered injuries, was first admitted at Kottayam Medical College. The dog attacked Thejus when he was playing in the courtyard with his cousins. The dog ran away when his mother Priya came out of the house on hearing the commotion.
