Bribe to friend's G pay; Grade SI arrested in Idukki

IDUKKI: A grade SI in Idukki was arrested for accepting bribes to quash an arrest warrant. Pradeep Jose, a Grade SI at Thodupuzha Police Station and a native of Vandiperiyar was arrested by the Vigilance.

As per the case, Pradeep took Rs 10,000 as a bribe to write off a warrant issued against a woman involved in a check bounce case. The money was sent through Google Pay to the account of an auto driver named Rasheed, a friend of the police officer. The Vigilance also arrested Rasheed, who received the money.

The vigilance team is investigating Pradeep Jose’s previous work history to check his involvement in similar cases. Pradeep Jose will be produced before the Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court.
