THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Accused arrested in the incident of attempting to attack a female doctor and vandalizing the hospital. The incident took place at 11.35 pm on Monday at the community health centre in Kallara Tharatta, Thiruvananthapuram. Arun (35), a native of Kallara Kattumpuram, and Shyam Nair (43), a native of Mundonikkara, were caught by the Pangodu police. They were arrested.

They had come to the social health centre seeking treatment after sustaining head injuries in a fight at a bar while drinking. The female doctor on duty told Arun that he should get an OP ticket. While the doctor and nurses were administering medicine to the injured, the second accused barged into the room and recorded a video. They then verbally abused and threatened the doctor. They brandished a knife at the hospital staff and tried to stab the doctor with scissors. The female doctor hid in the washroom. Meanwhile, they vandalized the hospital.

The accused destroyed the medicines and other items. They also tried to attack the Pangodu police who arrived after receiving the information. The police caught them later. The police registered a case on the doctor's complaint. They were arrested by a police team led by Pangodu SHO Jinesh.
