Hacked wife after using synthetic drugs; youth arrested in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: Yasir, who hacked his wife to death after using synthetic drugs in Eengappuzha, has been arrested. He was apprehended near the parking lot close to the emergency department at Kozhikode Medical College.

The brutal attack took place in the evening during the time of Iftar. Following a family dispute, Yasir attacked his wife, Shibila, after using synthetic drugs. When Shibila's father Abdurrahman tried to intervene, Yasir hacked him as well.

Abdurrahman is in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College. Yasir was apprehended from the nearby area. Yasir also attacked Shibila's mother, Haseena, who tried to stop him from attacking Abdurrahman. She is receiving treatment at the Thamarassery Taluk Hospital.

Yasir and Shibila got married four years ago. Due to a family dispute, Shibila had gone to her house with their three-year-old child. During this time, Yasir had allegedly burned Shibila's clothes and sent a picture to intimidate her.

Shibila's family has complained that although they had previously filed a complaint with the Thamarassery police regarding Yasir attacking her, the police did not investigate the matter properly. However, the police have stated that the investigation is ongoing. It is reported that Yasir is currently being held at the Kozhikode Medical College Police Station.
