LUCKNOW: A man has been arrested for strangling his seven-year-old daughter after raping her and attempting to frame a neighbouring woman. The incident occurred in Ghaziabad's Loni Border area in Uttar Pradesh. The arrested person has been identified as Gyan Singh. He had lodged a complaint against his neighbour after sexually abusing his daughter and killing her.
Gyan Singh had filed a complaint alleging that his daughter died and his wife and other children fell ill on March 12 after consuming the curry given by his neighbour, Shanti Devi. Based on this complaint, the police registered a case under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested Shanti Devi.
The child was taken to the GTB Hospital in Delhi, where the doctors confirmed her death. After treatment, the wife and other children were discharged. However, Gyan Singh refused to allow a post-mortem on his daughter's body and took the body home, which raised suspicions.
The police then issued an order for a post-mortem at the MMG District Hospital. The post-mortem report confirmed that the child had been sexually assaulted and died from strangulation. Following this, the Loni Border police arrested Gyan Singh. Upon questioning, the accused confessed to the crime.
