Couple ends life after slitting throat of two-and a half-year-old son in Kollam

KOLLAM: A couple committed suicide after killing their two and a half-year-old son at Thanni in Kollam. Ajeesh (38), his wife Sulu (36) and their son Aadhi are the dead. The family was staying near the BSNL office in Thanni. Police said the couple committed suicide after slitting the throat of their son. The couple was found hanging in the bedroom and the son was found lying dead on the bed.

Ajeesh was in the Gulf earlier. The neighbours said the family had a close bonding with everyone. The family had some minor financial problems, but the neighbors said the reason for taking the drastic step is not known. Ajeesh' parents were not at home. When Ajeesh and his wife were not seen out of the room in the morning, they informed the neighbors. They were later found dead.

Ajeesh was recently diagnosed with cancer and was facing financial difficulties. Police said the mental distress that followed may have led to the suicide. Police said that a case will be registered in the incident and an investigation will be conducted. The police clarified that the real cause of death will be clarified only after further investigation.
