THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister Veena George will hold talks with ASHA workers protesting day and night in front of the Secretariat. The talks will be held in the Assembly office at 3 pm today. The protesters have expressed their hope in the upcoming talks with the minister. This is following the failure of the talks held by the NHM state coordinator with the protesters this morning.

The protesters said the important demands of them were not approved in the talks. The ASHA workers said that they would go ahead with the hunger strike decided to be staged from tomorrow. The ASHA workers who attended the talks with the NHM, said the state coordinator did not even listen to any of the demands raised by them. The leader of the protest committee, S Mini informed that the NHM Mission State Coordinator had asked them to withdraw from the strike.
