Class 11 student found hanging in house in Thiruvananthapuram

KALLAMBALAM: A class 11 student was found hanging at her house in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Rudra (16), daughter of Shaji and Sunitha, of the Palliyathu house in Parthukonam, Manamboor.

She was a student of KTCT School. Rudra was alone at home at the time of the incident. Her father went to his grocery shop while Rudra’s mother and brother Jithin were at the bank in Kallambalam. The house was found locked from inside when they returned. Despite many calls, the door remained shut forcing her brother to break it open.

Inside the house, Rudra was found hanging on the fan in the hall using her mother's saree. It is rumoured that she was anxious over the exam results and this is doubted to be the reason for the suicide. However, relatives were shocked over the death and couldn’t fathom the lively girl they knew taking her own life. After the postmortem, the body was cremated in the house compound.
