Auto driver held for death of youth in accident, financial dispute led to murder

MALAPPURAM: Police said the incident where a youth died after a goods auto knocked him down in Kizhissery, is a murder. The victim is Ahadul Islam of Assam. The accident happened last night. The Kondotty police have arrested an auto driver identified as Guljar Hussain of Assam. The locals said Hussain ran over the youth, who fell on the road, with his auto.

The auto then continued its journey without stopping. The police arrested him early Thursday morning. There was a verbal dispute on some financial dealings between the two the previous night. Ahadul was knocked down soon after the fight. The accused then hit him from behind and knocked him down.
