Man arrested for sexually abusing minor girls in Ernakulam

KOCHI: The arrest of the woman’s male friend has been recorded in the case of sexually abusing her minor daughters. The arrested is Dhanesh of Ayyampuzha. The Kuruppumpady police took him into custody last night.

He sexually abused the minor girls after taking advantage of his friendship with their mother. There were reports that he tried to misuse the girls’ friends also. He abused the woman’s daughters aged 10 and 12.

The girls' father had died earlier. When he was a patient, the woman used to call Dhanesh's taxi to take him to the hospital. Taking advantage of this closeness, he became friends with the girls' mother. After the demise of the girls' father, he used to regularly come and stay at the rented house where the woman and her daughters lived. The girls considered him as their stepfather.

He sexually abused the girls several times from 2023 till last month. He also asked the girls to introduce him to their friends.

The elder girl then wrote a letter to her friend saying, 'Our father wants to see you, come home.' Her friend’s mother is a teacher of the school and she gave the letter to her mother. She became suspicious after seeing the letter and informed the police. The incident came to light when the elder girl's statement was taken. It is being investigated whether the girls' mother has a role in the incident.
