Decomposed body found in house in Vaikom; estimated to be 12 days old

KOTTAYAM: A decomposed body was found inside a house at Vaikom. The body was discovered at a house named Sharadavilasam, located in Irumpayam. The house had been unoccupied for the past 12 days. The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.

The house belongs to Vijayakumar and his wife Geetha, who had been staying at their daughter’s place. Upon returning today, they found the decomposed body lying on the veranda of the house. Following this, Vijayakumar immediately informed the police about the matter.

As the house is in an isolated area, no foul smell had spread outside. Vijayakumar’s son was also living in this house. The parents stated that they had tried calling their son for the past two days but he did not answer. The police are now investigating whether the body is that of the son. They mentioned that further information would be available only after a detailed examination. The police have reached the location and started further proceedings.
