Rs 40 lakh cash kept in sack stolen from car; files complaint

KOZHIKODE: A complaint filed said Rs 40 lakh was stolen from a parked car. The thieves broke the glass of the car parked on the parking area of a hospital at Poovattuparambu in Kozhikode. Rahees of Anakuzhikkara lost the money.

Rahees told police that the money was kept in a sack. The incident happened between 3 pm and 4 pm on Wednesday afternoon. The thieves stole the money after breaking the front window of the car. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced. The footage shows two motorists leaving with the sack. The police are also investigating the source of the money.
