KOCHI: In a rogue incident, a KAAPA case accused, dragged a youth out of his house, thrashed and broke his leg. The incident took place in Thrikkakara. Sreeraj, the accused in the KAAPA case, barged into the house of a youngster and dragged him out of sleep. The youngster was seriously thrashed in public while the accused even filmed the video on his phone and later put it as status.

When arrested by the police after the incident, Sreeraj confessed that he modelled the attack mimicking the recently released movie 'Pani'. The attack was triggered by the young man’s relationship with a girl. Like in the movie, Sreeraj barged into the house unnoticed and attacked the youngster who was asleep.

Sreeraj was arrested just two days back for entering the district in violation of the KAAPA law. Sreeraj (28), a native of Thanthonni Thuruth, was arrested by the Mulavukad police on that day following a tip-off. Sreeraj is an accused in 10 cases, including an attempt to murder and POCSO cases. Despite being charged with KAAPA, he was living in Thuruth, evading the police.

At times police would reach his house to arrest him but the accused would end up having the last laugh as he would jump into the lake and escape. Last day, a team led by the Mulavukad SHO cordoned off Sreeraj’s house. The accused tried to pull out his usual trick but was subdued by the officials.
