KOZHIKODE: The family of Shibila, who was hacked to death by her husband, criticized police for showing lax in the case despite filing a complaint about Yasir long back. The family also demanded action against the police officers who failed in their duty.

"Yasir would come home drunk and beat Shibila. Shibila hid many things from us. On the 28th, she filed a complaint alleging Yasir's drug use. Later, the police called and inquired about the matter. Even after being asked to bring Shibila's certificate, Yasir cared less. Even after calling the police several times and informing them about the matter, nothing happened. If the police had been prompt in their action, my daughter would have been still alive.” said the family.

The shocking incident took place last Tuesday. Yasir arrived at Shibila's house in his car at the time of breaking the fast. He stabbed Shibila in the neck while she was eating.

The postmortem report states that the cause of death was a deep wound to the neck. The postmortem report states that two of the wounds to the neck were deep and there were a total of 11 wounds on the body.
