KOCHI: The central government will not allow permission for K-RAIL in Kerala, says Metroman E Sreedharan with an air of confidence. Sreedharan opened doors for cooperation with the government for an alternative plan if K-Rail gets shelved.
E Sreedharan also clarified that he will provide all support to the alternative plan.
“There is no possibility of K-Rail coming to Kerala. But I have given an alternative plan for it. The Kerala government has liked that proposal. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and I have discussed this,” E Sreedharan added.
Meanwhile, Minister K. Rajan reiterated that there is no obstacle to selling or pledging the land identified for K-Rail. Only Section 6(1) of the Surveys and Boundaries Act has been published regarding land acquisition. The Minister told the Assembly that the notification under Section 4(1) has not been published. Therefore, there stands no problem with the purchase and sale of land.
