KOZHIKODE: Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar expressed dissatisfaction with the SFI banner at Calicut University that said "We need a Chancellor, not Savarkar."
"When I entered the university, I saw a banner. 'We want a chancellor, not Savarkar.' What illiterate mindset is this? How can Savarkar be an enemy of the country?"
Take history lessons without any preconceptions. Savarkar battled death while sacrificing for the country. Savarkar always worked for others, and thought about the society. " the governor said.
He also instructed the Vice Chancellor to be careful about such banners reaching the campus. The governor harped on the need for elite education facilities for the country to thrive. The governor arrived at the university wearing a 'Say No to Drugs' signage on his shirt.
