Woman who returned for vacation two weeks ago dies in scooter accident

PATHANAMTHITTA: A woman who was travelling on a scooter with her husband died in an accident after being hit by a KSRTC superfast bus. The accident took place around 10 am today near the Pandalam-Thonnallur-Kanikkavanchi intersection on MC Road. The deceased is Leenu Eldhose (35), wife of Eldhose B Varghese of Ooramana Vallukattil, Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam.

The bus was coming from Thodupuzha to Thiruvananthapuram when it hit the scooter. The accident occurred while Leenu and her husband were travelling to their family home in Pattazhi to meet and see off their sister, who was going to the UK on the coming Monday. The rear of the bus which overtook the scooter hit Leenu, causing her to fall under the bus.

Leenu was taken to a private hospital in Pandalam but died. Eldhose sustained minor injuries in the accident. Both of them, who work as nurses in Muscat, returned home two weeks ago on vacation. Leenu is the daughter of Sayakathil Jayakumar and Leelamani of Meenam Swami Nagar, Pattazhi.
