PEERUMEDU: A woman was arrested for making a 12-year-boy drink liquor. The Peerumedu police arrested Priyanka (26) of Mlamala. She is a plantation worker in Mlamala.

When the boy reached home exhausted, his parents enquired the reason. Only then they came to know that he had gone to Priyanka’s house. She later admitted to giving him liquor. She is known to the boy’s family.

The complaint to the police said that she made him drink liquor after making him believe it as black tea. A case was registered under the Juvenile Justice Act and she was produced before the Peerumedu court and remanded.

The police have started further investigation into the incident. The police are investigating the reason for giving him liquor and whether anyone else had been given alcohol in this way.

A 23-year-old girl was arrested in Kannur earlier this month in a case of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl. Sneha Merlin of Puliparambu was arrested. The teachers, who became suspicious of the behavior of the girl subjected to abuse, informed the parents.

The girl later revealed about the abuse when she was subjected to counseling. Sneha was arrested by a police team led by Thalassery circle inspector Shaji Patteri. Sneha was also an accused in an assault case in another case.
