Masked thief breaks into women's hostel in Kakkanad; Police intensify probe

KOCHI: Police intensified the search for the thief who broke into a women’s hostel in Kakkanad in the early hours of Sunday morning. The investigation is ongoing, with heavy scrutiny of CCTV footage of the thief entering the hostel.

An attempted robbery was committed at three hostels in Kakkanad, including the Kunnumpuram Nihariya Hostel, in the early hours of the morning. Upon seeing the stranger in a face mask, the frightened girls screamed which made the stranger scamper away. The thief entered all three hostels but fled when the girls yelled out. The attempted theft occurred this morning. Thrikkakara police registered a case based on the complaint.
