Israel bombs hospital in Gaza, kills Hamas leader, injures many 

RAFAH: Israel kills Hamas leader after bombing Nasser Hospital in Gaza. The dead is Ismail Barhoum, a member of the Hamas politburo. Hamas has also confirmed the incident. Israel also stated that its attack was targeting Hamas terrorists. They also said that the dead was a top Hamas terrorist.

Ismail Barhoum was seriously injured in an airstrike in Khan Younis on Tuesday and was being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital. The airstrike targeted Ismail Barhoum’s house at the time. This was followed by Israel's attack on the hospital on Sunday and killing the Hamas leader.

About five people died in the attack. Many others were injured, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Israel only destroyed the part of the four-story hospital where Ismail Barhoum was being treated. International media have released images of the fire here.

Ismail is the fourth member of Hamas's politburo to die since Tuesday in a series of heavy Israeli attacks that violated the ceasefire agreement. Israeli military sources said the targeted attack was carried out based on intelligence information.
