THODUPUZHA: There are hints that Jomon, a business partner of Chungam Mulayingal Biju Joseph (50), had tried to danger him before. Their neighbor and CPM area committee member Prasobh clarified this to a channel. The quotation was initially given to the followers of Container Sabu in Kochi. The plan at that time was to attack his house. However, Jomon withdrew as he was not interested in it.

Later, Jomon gave quotation of Rs 6 lakh to Sabu's follower, Ashiq, an accused in a KAPPA case. The only goal was to assault Biju and get money. The neighbor's revelation came while the police were investigating Container Sabu's role in the incident. Prasobh also said that he had mediated in a financial dispute between the two after Jomon asked him.

The post-mortem report found that the cause of Biju's death was internal bleeding due to head injuries. There is also a crucial revelation that the head injury was caused by physical abuse. Biju's three ribs and neck were broken. He was beaten inside the vehicle he was abducted. When Biju Joseph created a ruckus, the second accused in the case, Ashiq Johnson (27) of Paravur Vadakkekkara, hit him on his head and kicked him on his neck. This was the cause of death. The body will be laid to rest at Chungam St Mary's Forona Church Cemetery today.

Incident that led to murder
After problems arose in their joint business, Biju and the first accused, Jomon Joseph of Kalayanthani and owner of Devamatha Catering, ended their business transactions. Jomon later complained that he did not get his due share. Subsequently, the driver gave a quotation through Jomon.

Biju was abducted when he went to have tea at 5 am on Thursday. After Ashiq beat him to death, his body was taken to a godown in Kalayanthani by 8.30 am and concreted in a manhole. After Kappa case accused Ashiq was arrested in connection with another case, the other accused, thinking that the police had come to know about the murder, entered Aluva area.

The police, who had come to investigate Biju’s missing complaint, received crucial information about the murder from Jomon's relative. Jomon had told him that Biju had been kidnapped and that the murder had been committed by mistake.
