THAMARASSERY: The police have remanded Shibila's husband Yasir, the accused in the murder case, in police custody. He was remanded in custody till 11 am on the 27th of this month. Yasir will be taken into police custody from jail today.

The police did not release any details regarding the incident, including evidence collection at the house where Shibila was murdered. The police believe that there will be protests by the locals against Yasir.

The police have extended the process of taking the accused into custody due to fear that the locals will be angry.

Station PRO and Grade SI KK Naushad was suspended the other day after the police failed to take action on the harassment complaint filed by Shibila against her husband.

Yasir stabbed Shibila to death last Tuesday evening after entering her house in Kakkad, Engappuzha. Shibila's father and mother had also been stabbed. A medical examination found that Yasir, a drug addict, was not intoxicated at the time of the crime. The police are investigating matters including Yasir's drug dealings.
