Two students drown while bathing in Pallana river

HARIPPAD: Two school students drowned while bathing in the Pallana river. The deceased are Albin (14), son of Joy, of Aardram house in Ottappana, Thottapalli and Abhimanyu (14), son of Aneesh, of Punartham house in Sandra Junction, Karuwatta. They had gone to bathe at the river near the Pallana Kumarakodi bridge this afternoon.

Police say that they slipped while bathing and got swept away. The bodies of both were found after a long search. Albin was an 8th grade student of Malankara School, Thottapalli. Abhimanyu was an 8th grade student of NSS Higher Secondary School, Karuwatta. Albin and three friends had come to Pallana together. Abhimanyu was accompanied by two friends. They had come in two groups to bathe at the same area.
