THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The family alleged mystery in the death of the intelligence officer at the international airport. They have filed a complaint with the Pettah police and the IB, demanding a detailed investigation into the incident. She was working in the immigration wing at the international airport.
The dead is Megha (25), only daughter of retired Govt ITI Principal Madhusoodanan of Pathanamthitta Athirungal Karakkakuzhi Poozhikkad House and Nisha, an employee of Palakkad Collectorate.
The police suspect love failure as the reason for the suicide. Her relatives said the girl was in love with an IB officer from Malappuram. Megha had told her family about this relationship. Though the family opposed the relation initially, later agreed to it. However, the IB officer later severed ties with her.
Her body was found lying in the railway track in between Pettah and Chakkai Monday morning at 9.15 am. On being informed, the Pettah police arrived and conducted an inspection and identified her after getting the ID card of Bureau of Civil Aviation from near the body. Megha left the airport yesterday morning after night duty. She was fatally knocked down by Jayanthi Janatha Express bound for Thiruvananthapuram.
The loco pilot gave information that Megha, who was walking on the track talking on the phone, suddenly lay down on the track when she saw the train coming. They will also examine with whom she was talking on the phone at the time of the incident. Pettah circle inspector Prem Kumar said that as the phone is completely damaged after being hit by the train, they will collect information with the help of the cyber police. The body was handed over to the relatives after the postmortem at the medical college hospital.
