THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary M.V. Govindan has criticized central agencies for disregarding the facts presented by the state government in relation to the Kodakara hawala money case. He claimed that despite the state's efforts to bring the truth to light, the central agencies have ignored crucial details. Govindan added that the charge sheet was filed on the insistence of the High Court. He also alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was acting to safeguard the interests of the BJP and RSS.
"ED has altered the charge sheet to ensure that BJP leaders are not implicated. They submitted a report to the court by protecting the BJP's interests. In response to politically motivated actions by the ED, we will conduct a march to the ED office in Kochi on the 29th. Even after Tirur Satheesh revealed that money was smuggled in six sacks, the ED has not recorded his statements. The Kerala Police filed the case based on the statement of the office secretary. The deal took place with the knowledge of BJP’s former president K. Surendran," Govindan said.
"The state government has presented the facts, but central agencies have completely ignored them. The ED is raising bizarre arguments to sabotage the money laundering case. They are spreading lies to protect the BJP members. BJP members involved in the case are being given a clean chit. However, the same central agency provided incorrect information to the media in Karuvannur," Govindan added.
